Football is not in your head , its in your feet. work those Gator drills If you are working out regularly you need to get some football movements into your routine. Your assignment this week will be to add a speed component in your training. Since not everyone has a gym or a track then this video will show you how you can do this every day in your home.
ASSIGNMENT: Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wl3NO6eGQTw
ATTACHED DOCUMENTS: Offensive and defensive positions, special teams and part 1 of nutrition.
NOTES: Everyone will say the Riders lost the Grey Cup because of the 13 men on the field. However, they missed a field goal in the first quarter(3 points), threw an interception in the red zone(minimal 1 point), missed seven tackles on Montreal's first TD drive of the third quarter( 8 points).
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: Speed is not your fastest, but your slowest man. No back can run faster than his interference. ~Jock Sutherland
LIFE LESSON: Learn your assignments so you don't become the 13th man.

> Hopefully most of you have had a chance to take a look at the

> When we get together again in February or whenever we do establish

SWEDEN TO HOST INAUGURAL INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF AMERICAN FOOTBALL WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Stockholm will welcome six teams from around the world to the Zinkensdamms IP Stadium when history is made on the gridiron from June 26 to July 4, 2010
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2009 - PARIS, FRANCE - The world's best female American Football players will converge on Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden, for the inaugural International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Women's World Championship in the summer of 2010.
Having announced its intention to host a championship caliber tournament for women at the 12th annual IFAF Congress this past summer, the sport's international governing body has confirmed June 26 though July 4 as the dates when elite female athletes will compete in Sweden for the world title.
"Women's tackle football is growing steadily in popularity and there is definitely enthusiasm among players for an international competition of the highest quality," said IFAF President TOMMY WIKING, who is also the President of the Swedish American Football Federation (Svenska Amerikansk Fotbollsförbundet). "IFAF and its federations will become stronger through participating in competitions, so we expect this world championship to be another positive step forward."
All games will be played at the Zinkensdamms IP Stadium in Stockholm and each team may enter a 45-player roster. The six teams will be divided into two groups of three and will play a round-robin tournament with the group winners qualifying for the Gold Medal Game, the second placed teams meeting for the Bronze Medal and the third placed teams for fifth place.
Several countries have expressed an interest in entering from countries where women's tackle football is currently played, including Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Venezuela and the United States. The six participating teams will be announced on December 1.
Teams are scheduled to arrive in Stockholm on Saturday, June 26, and the first games will be played on the following day, Sunday, June 27. Alternate rest and game days will follow before the Gold and Bronze Medal games take place on Saturday, July 3.

Manitoba Women’s Tackle Football Team Set To Tackle International Stage
The IWFL Challenge Game Series is part of a new initiative to support the participation of girls and women in tackle football worldwide. The series is designed to offer exciting opportunities for teams to showcase their skills and sportsmanship while promoting the sport of women's tackle football on an international stage.
“We are extremely excited to be a part of this event” said Fearless Head Coach Craig Bachynski. “The girls have been practicing hard and are ready to play some smash mouth football. There are few opportunities in life to represent your country, so this is a special time for both our players and coaching staff,” he said.
“I have dreamt of playing tackle football my entire life, as a woman I never thought I would have the chance, last year we got the team going and this year we are representing our country” said team founder, General Manager and player, Tannis Wilson. “It is beyond my wildest dreams. We just wanted to play a game of football and the Vixen have created a first class international event. We will do our best to represent our country our province, our very proud families, and the football community as a whole.” she said.
The Fearless are the only women's team in Manitoba, and for the past two years have led the way for women's football in Western Canada. The team is made up of about 30 women and eight coaching staff.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009
Although there was some talk about having a defensive only practice this Thursday evening because of the free night, I feel that it will likely be in our best interest to have the week off as a team, rather than half a team. However, that doesn't mean that our responsibilities end for the week. First and foremost, use this Thursday to organize yourselves for the Bud, Spud and Steak (as I'm sure you've all read the post regarding this, I won't elaborate). This will also be a good week for you to attend to any arrangements you have to make regarding the upcoming equipment draw. If you have a program to speak with, now is one of your last opportunities to do so. If on Thursday you have nothing to do because you've already dealt with everything, then I would ask that you use your free time to read through the playbook and think about your responsibilities in the various situations. Some strategies:
- Write down questions or anything you're not sure about
- Close your eyes and visualize what it will look like around you
- Write out what your job is in each front (O/S, 50, 44) or situation (22, 31, 32)
- Close the playbook and draw out the defense (the defensive front for d-line, the coverage for db's, both for linebackers)
Each of these strategies will help you to understand what your job is, though some will be more effective than others for each of you. Now that we are about to head outside, it is increasingly important that we understand the system and each of our jobs within it. Have a good week, I'll see you Saturday.
Monday, May 4, 2009
- Reminder, there is NO practice this week, stay tuned for Equipment Pick-up Times and Dates
- Reminder, BUD SPUD and STEAK this weekend, Saturday May 9th.
Last chance for tickets and Prizes drop offs.
This Thursday night we will be at Miranda's house, 6 Rillwillow Place, for you to drop off any outstanding money or tickets that you can't sell in order to minimize the collections being done the night of. (Anytime after 6PM)
At this time you can also pick up more tickets if needed. As well, to all of you who have not dropped of a Prize for the auction….. You need to drop off your prize that night.
We need to know what we have in order to put together the prize packages! If you are NOT ABLE to get a prize you will be required to pay $20 so we can purchase a prize to add to the auction (as discussed). This $20 will also be collected on Thurs.
Please show up at Miranda's if you have anything to clear up as it is difficult to deal with this all the night of the event. This is a team event, it is ALL of our responsibilities to ensure it's success. If you have any question or concerns, please call me, LISA (Zueff) at home 339-3505 or at work 957-2500 ext 2572.
Please see the Below List for Times based on the original request for volunteers to work the night of the Event. Please e-mail me firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help out as I need to slot at least 4 more people that night. If we have more volunteers that means less time at each job!!! Please help your teammates out!!!
Time slots for Bud Spud

6:00-7:00 Grace and Rachel
6:00-7:00 Age and Roy

Last week was difficult to adjust to, that I understand. It was a late venue, it resulted in an unexpected time change and it had been "officially" cancelled prior to being put back on. But we cannot have a 20-woman night again. As Coach Bach has said multiple times, if you are going to miss a practice, there needs to be a communication. But I am not posting this to dwell on last week so much as to prepare for the coming weeks. There cannot be a 20-woman night again.
Many, if not all of you, understand what it takes to be committed to something. A football program is no different. It takes dedication to the team to re-arrange priorities and make the sacrifices necessary. Family will always be first. Many things will often be second. If, for the next two and a half months football is not third, you need to look at your priorities. This is a team worthy of being committed to. This is not a recreational team, though it's wonderful for team morale that it often feels like it. Ladies, this is a provincial team. You are an elite group of women that has been asked to represent Manitoba, volunteered or not. The only way to properly represent a province that has become so very football proud again in recent years between its growing programs and national championships is to attend practice and remain dedicated. 20-woman nights do not build successful teams, and they certainly do not build successful programs. They cannot happen.
I hope that you all understand that I am not speaking to any one individual. I am speaking to the entire team with a message of caution not to become complacent. This is a provincial team. This is a team that represents Manitoba. This is a team to be proud to play for and a team to proud to coach for. And, when it comes time to host the rest of the prairies, we Will be the most conditioned, best educated, arduously practiced and undoubtedly Fearless team on the field. See you Thursday.

- We are planning on hosting the Western Canadian Championship this year
- We are creating an organizing Committee in conjunction with Football Manitoba
- We are also setting a board/committee to help organize Team Fearless
- We are in the process of creating a budget/registration fee for the year.
- We are in the process of finding outdoor practice facilities.
- There will be a $350 equipment deposit payable to Team Fearless this year when the equipment is dispersed. If the equipment is not returned the cheque gets cashed.
- If you have not returned your equipment from last year you will not be permitted to play until it has been returned.
The pre-season is starting in two weeks. We plan on having two practice/workouts a week Starting. Jan 27th is the start date for:
- Team Workout with trainer, Tues. evening at Dakota Community Club with Terry Hadlow (Char's husband). This will cost $85 each, it is required at the first session or you will not be permitted to partake. You will also require a release, please download, fill out and bring with http://www.dakotacc.com/springandsummerapp.pdf includes 10 weeks of specialized training.
- Indoor skills/ practice Thursdays at West Kildonan High School starting Jan 29th. Time TBA

- Managers - Karen Byzk (Marks Wife), Mama Buck and Bunch will be managing the on field team this year.
- I will remain as the GM.
We are working on tabulating the cost for this year. All players must pay $20.00 for registration at the first practice. Although Bach mentioned retuning players were covered, they are only covered for 12 months from last Feb 1st, therefore all players will be required to pay $20 at the first indoor practice on the 29th.
The rest of the dues will be tabulated and confirmed ASAP.
- We are developing a board for the team and a committee for the Western Canadians so stay tuned!!
- FYI, if you have outstanding dues with any football organization or if you have not returned you equipment from last year, you will not be allowed to practice with the team until the dues are paid. Please have proof of payment at the practice you are planning on attending. You will not be able to practice with the team until the fees are paid. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED!
